Past the 1 month mark...

Ever since Aidan started school after he turned 1 year of age, he has been falling sick almost once in every 2 to 3 weeks but he has just passed the 5th week mark of being free from the flu bugs. I am so relieved and continue to keep my fingers crossed that this can continue as long as possible.

Talking about his development, he weighs 13.7kg now (not bad) and about 95cm tall. He can talk better these days. Can reply "no problem" and "Don't touch my penis"...so cute. But I also missed his younger days where he was so chubby and cute.

We are planning our September trip to HK and it will be his first Disneyland trip. Really looking forward to it.

Scardy Aidan

It has been a few mths since I last log on to this Blog as I was so busy with work and all.

We have officially withdrew Aidan from Shichida since last week as he developed this scardy mood a few weeks ago (could be due to after watching "Monster Inc."), whenever he went to the class, he will said he is scared of Teacher Huiling and will cling to either me or my MIL and refused to participate in the class, hence after 3 consecutive weeks of such behaviour, we decided not to force him into something he doesn't like.

At the same time, at home, he will often said he is scared of something e.g. scared of going into our master bedroom, scared abt certain characters in some TV programmes, etc etc...sigh, I wonder why the sudden change in behaviour. Aidan, you are a boy, got to be more brave.

Aidan calls me Princess!

Today Aidan woke up on the "right side of the bed", he was in good mood. When I carried him out to the living area, I told him "The Prince is up, the Prince is up" and he repeated after me. After I changed into my office attire - a red n white dress, Aidan said to me "Princess". I was surprised cos I have never said this word to him before and I asked him who is the Princess and he replied "mummy". Aidan, you have made my day today :)

So sweet...

After Aidan came him from Rosy on Monday and while Meli (my domestic helper) was feeding him his dinner, I dressed up in my exercise attire and bunned up my hair ( I seldom bunned my hair at home) and when Aidan saw me, he said "beautiful". For a while, I didn't know what he was saying cos he has never said this word before and Meli pointed that he said the word "beautiful" and when I asked him, he replied "yes" and said "kiss" (prompted me to kiss him) and I gave him a kiss on his lips ;) Aidan, you are soooooo sweet....

Aidan is smarter than mummy

When I fetched Aidan from Rosy on Monday, teacher handed me his art folder and I saw a picture of Otter that he coloured. When I distracted him by asking him what animal was that whilst trying to put him in his child seat and I prompted "Is that squirrel? Meekat? Fox?" and he replied "no, no, no". After securing his seat belt without any fuss from him, I got into the car and immediately he replied me "otter!". I had a good laugh cos I cannot even remember it's otter and need my son to remind me :p

3rd CNY

We didn't really enjoyed our CNY this year as Aidan developed a fever and lasted for 4 days. It happened on CNY's eve abt 1.45pm. I was playing with him and noted a temperature of 38 deg when I touched his forehead. Despite giving him paracetamol and Ibuprofen, his temp kept going up until 39.9 deg, we had to quickly sent him to KKH to check on him. He was crying badly and refused to be checked, anyway, the doc said nothing serious, just got to alternate paracetamol and Ibuprofen when the needs arise. We left KKH at 6 plus pm and by the time we reached my parent's place, they were done with their reunion dinner but luckily there was still food left for us.

On the 1st day of CNY, we didn't go visiting except for mass, my in-law's place and my parent's place since Aidan's fever is still persistent. On 2nd day, we decided to go to Adrian's "Tai Gu"'s place as His temperature seemed more controlled. But this fever of his lasted till yesterday and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's gone. Don't understand why the sudden fever since there are no other symptoms...weird.

Kisses....

For the past few days, Aidan has been very sweet, when I played with him or teach him something, he will said "kiss" and come and kissed me on my lips. previously he will either open his mouth to "eat" my lips or will wet my face so my really kissing but these few days, he really kissed me....I felt so happy and sweet inside me.

His vocabulary has increased alot, he can speak more and more words & sentences and expresses himself more. He even can sing songs like Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, ABC song, "Dang Wo Hai Shi Wa Wa" (learnt from Shichida), etc...Good job Aidan!

Aidan can count in Mandarin

After constant communicating with Aidan in English, daddy is worried that Aidan will not be able to speak Mandarin and will become like him in the future, hence, started talking to him in Mandarin yesterday.

They were playing some counting games and Adrian encouraged Aidan to count in Mandarin but little boy refused but after a while he counted 1 to 8 in Mandarin and he did it a few times. It was a pleasant surprise to me since I have not really heard him speak Mandarin except for a few words here and there.

Aidan turns 2!

We celebrated Aidan's birthday on 31 Dec with immediate family, our next door neighbours and Yek's family. Thankfully, Aidan recovered before the party and we had BBQ at our place. As usual, comes cake cutting, he will become very shy and refused to blow the candles...sigh...I wonder when will he outgrow this shyness but I must say he was better than last year, at least he didn't cry :p

His vocab is building up and he is able to speak in some sentences. The most amazing one was when he was in hospital and he said "I want this cereal". It was loud & clear!

Poor Aidan

Monday, 5. January 2009, 02:53:29

December 2008 is a month that I do not wish to remember...

Aidan coughed for 1 whole month and despite using nebuliser, it didn't help at all and he took medicine for 1 month and developed a week fever after coughing for 3 weeks. so when we brought him for review after using the nebuliser on 26 Dec, Dr Chan suggested to admit him in Mt A for inpatient treatment. We were all not prepared but we guessed it might be better for Aidan. The 3D/2N stay was terrible for Aidan, he has to be on drip since he wasn't really eating and they have to administer an antibiotics to treat the phelgm via the drip. He was screaming and crying for me when they put the drip into him, I couldn't help but shed some tears while waiting outside the room. Then the Physiotherapist insert a tube and sucked out the phelgm from his throat and again he cried so badly. Dr Chan also ordered the nurses to perform nebuliser every 4 hourly even in the middle of the night but I must say that those that were done in the middle of the night were easier since we didn't have to pin him down to administer. It must have been the environment and all the trauma that he went through that caused him to resist the neb cos we didn't faced any problem doing it at home.

I stayed in the hospital with himeven though I just recovered from fever. I had to sleep on the bed with him to make him feel secure. But thank God that he didn't cough much or at least not phelgmy but the end of his stay and I asked Dr Chan whether he can be discharge on 28 Dec, so we all went home on 28 Dec but he has to be on neb for another 3 more days. His appetite also slowly recovered when he was back home but the aftermath of this ordeal was he woke up 4 consecutive nights crying for "Grandma" and he didn't want either Adrian or me to carry him, probably he remembered that we were the "bad guys" trying to make him go through the ordeal. so poor Grandma didn't have proper sleep for 4 nights cos the mintue she put him down, he will cry.

We are thankful that he is fully recovered and he no longer wakes up in the night crying. I really hope that we do not have to go through this anymore......

How time flies....

Tuesday, 18. November 2008, 02:26:02

Aidan is almost 2 years old and it's time to prepare for his birthday celebration again. We have decided not to hold an elaborated one this time, instead will have a BBQ dinner cum celebration at the function room of Raintree.

Aidan was able to count from 1 to 10 at abt 21 months. He was able to complete simple puzzle too. Last week, Aidan finally crossed the 12kg mark and he now weighs 12.2kg :) His vocabulary has also increased and his pronounciation of words is getting better and better. Just waiting patiently for him to speak in sentences.

He just recovered from his 2nd HFMD 2 weeks back...sigh...this time round, there is not much rashes but there were 2 ulcers in his mouth which affected his appetite. I guessed that this is a trade off between learning things from school and falling sick.

Latest development

Monday, 13. October 2008, 08:50:58

Yesterday we witnessed Aidan sang almost the whole song of "twinkle twinkle little star" when he watched "baby can read". He only missed some words here n there. both Adrian & I were watching him doing the twinkle action while singing from the dining table and we clapped after he finished, he looked shocked that he has been watched :p

He has been able to say more and more words now, he knows when to say "thank you", call my maid "aunty", when he wants something, he will go "I want", he even can call his name!

I can't wait to talk with him in sentences...

Aidan is into his 2 syllabic words

Thursday, 21. August 2008, 01:48:38

1 week ago, Aidan can finally call me Mummy. I thought it's a coincidence but when I came back from Jakarta on 15 Aug, I "tested" him again and true enough, he really called me Mummy. I was so happy and he does call Adrian "Daddy" too, no more "dad" or "dad dad" :p These few days, I heard him saying more and more 2 syllabic words like "baby" etc. He also knows how to count from 1 to 10 although the pronounciation for 7 is not clear :p

What also amazed me was he was able to recognize some pictures cards that I flashed to me and was able to say the words. Those pictures were only part of an items. I think he can remember the pictures when I flashed to him.

Now he can also jumped with 2 legs up and more and more active :) He will cheered along when we cheered for our S'pore team in Olympics Table Tennis...it was really funny.

He seemed to have grown taller again cos his usual jeans n long pants are shorter now, time to change his jeans/pants again :)

Aidan is able to fix puzzles at 19 mths

Wednesday, 6. August 2008, 02:23:09

Aidan has 2 puzzles - 1 on transportation (9 pieces) and 1 on fruits (can't remember how many pieces :p). Yesterday, we noticed that he was able to place all the different types of transportation correctly and as for the fruit puzzle, I would said he can do it with 80% accuracy cos for the transpotation puzzle, it comes with colour so he can properly match the same colour and placed them in the correct "hole", whereas for the fruits, he has to identify the correct pieces according to the shapes of the puzzle, so the level of difficulty for fruit puzzle is higher.

But I was very proud of him to be able to solve the transportation puzzle :) Good job, my son!

At 19 mths, he was able to say some new words - frog, horse, Ye Ye (grandpa in chinese), Nai Nai (grandma in chinese), flag, mouse, cow and many more which I can't recall at this juncture. But he could not speak in sentence yet.

Aidan has progressed to the toddler class

Tuesday, 8. July 2008, 09:03:42

Aidan has officially been upgraded to the toddler class on this Monday, 7 July 2008. Teacher Emi has commented that he can mixed very well with the other toddlers and no problem with the new teacher. I was very glad that he can mixed well and exhibits no fear at all, pretty very proud of you, Aidan. For the past weeks, teahers have commented that Aidan can remember the phonics song and follow the actions and he can remember all the actions during the kindermusik class and one of the teacher's comment of that was "WOW". I was very surprised too and always wonder what kind of actions are they. But I do noticed when he watched the DVDs (Barney, etc), he could really remember the coming scenes cos he would either do the action or say the words before the next scene comes on. I wonder whether it's due to his Shichida class.

Brought Aidan for his 18 mths assessment and jab yesterday and sad to say, he has lost weight from his 12 mth assessment. He is only 10.6kg now which is slightly below 50 percentile. But his height of 85cm belongs to 90 percentile range so his height to weight ratio is only 25 percentile :( His head circumrence is 50 percentile. PD said he is developing normally.

Aidan turned 18 mths!

Friday, 4. July 2008, 09:23:08

How time flies, our little prince is now 18 mths old. I think he is learning to speak more words now. Early part of this week, we asked him whether he wants to eat grapes and he replied "yeah" and we asked him whether it is good, he replied "good"

2 weeks ago, he also started to hum n sing a few words when I sang lullabies to him. He can sang especially well for "Twinkle twinkle little star", always ended the last word for me.

He enjoys music very much, whenever there are songs (esp for Thomas & Friends, Pocoyo, Mickey Mouse Playhouse, etc etc) on the TV, he will dance (by stamping his feet) and he looked so happy dancing away.

He can jumped now! Hahah...you are right, with only 1 feet. It's quite funny to see him jump. His hand will have the lifting gesture, with 1 feet off the floor and he will say "jump"....so cute!

He finally nods!!!

Tuesday, 24. June 2008, 05:54:14

Aidan has been very good at shaking his head even he meant "yes" and I always corrected him by nodding his head for him :p But yesterday he surprised us by nodding his head for the very FIRST time and we were all so happy clapping and praising him. I think he finds it very difficult to nod his head and he even moved his body when he nodded for the first time....quite funny to witness that.

But I'm glad that he can nod now :)

Weaning off pacifier

Friday, 16. May 2008, 02:21:49

I have been wanting to wean Aidan from his pacifier cos he has been relying on it too much when he sleeps at night. So much that his pacifier will not drop out from his mouth when he goes into deep sleep. I heard people suggesting to me on cutting his pacifier off and putting chilli on his pacifier so I decided to try the former method on 14 May 2008. I gave him the cut pacifier and after sucking for a while, he must have realized it's not his usual pacifier so he took out and see and even put his finger inside the hole but he continued to chew on it (since he loves to bite things) and put in his mouth. I thought I failed but during sleeping time, he was tossing n turing uncomfortably since he didn't have his usual pacifier in his mouth and he must be so frustrated with the cut pacifier that he threw it on the bed and just went to sleep!!! I was so happy :) But he woke up twice crying which I managed to pacify him by carrying him to sleep for a while and he slept throughout after that.

I decided to persevere as I see some light at the end of the tunnel :p He didn't ask for his pacifier last night before going to sleep and he managed to sleep without it but he woke up in the middle of the night crying and again I quiet him down by carrying him a while and thereafter, he slept through again. I think I am getting there and hopefully he can really get rid of this habit!

More updates on Aidan's development

Monday, 28. April 2008, 01:10:00

I was very surprised when Aidan seemed to know the different types of flowers in a book. 2 nights ago, I showed him the flower book and asked him, where is Daffodil, he was able to flip to the page and point to the flower, I was unconvinced and thought it might be just sheer luck, so I tested him by asking him "Where is Pansy, Morning Glory, Tulip and Rose" and to my surprise, he flipped to the pages of these flowers and able to point to them correctly!!! I was so impressed cos I did not read this book to him daily and yet he knows.

Last week, he was also able to hold the door key (boy, he knows exactly which is the door key) and he wanted to slot into the gate to open hte door and he almost did it!!! Adrian became bac on Friday night and he witnessed the same and he was so excited when he told me how smart his son is and I told him, I knew it already :p See, that's the negative part abt not being able to be with ur kid during the growing phase, you will missed most of his "first".

The weather during the past few days were simply unbearable so at times we need to on the aircon in the hall and there were several remote controls in the hall (tv, SCV, DVD and aircon) and this smart boy knows which is the remote control and try to on and off the aircon!!! We were surprised by his ability to differntiate the several remote controls and when my FIL tried to confuse him by giving him another remote control to on the aircon, he actually knew and took the correct one!! Aidan, mummy is very proud of you!!

Aidan has a "girlfriend"??

Tuesday, 22. April 2008, 06:25:42

Yesterday evening, Teacher Radi told me that there's this girl - Jin En who likes to tease Aidan. Always snatch his toys when he is playing with them and Aidan will chase after her to get back his toys. I thought it was so cute. My brother-in-law heard this and teased Aidan to have a girlfriend at this young age... :p

Teaching Aidan to call Mummy

Friday, 18. April 2008, 00:28:30

I have been teaching Aidan to call me "Mummy" instead of "Ma Ma". I think most babies have the problem of pronouncing "Mi" but I can see that he was trying his best to pronounce but "Ma Ma" always come out of his mouth eventually except for last Saturday when we were inside the car and when I told him to call me "Mummy", the word "Mummy" actually actually out but when he tried to repeat, he failed :p But good try Aidan, Mummy is proud of you :)

Aidan can finally walk!!!!

Wednesday, 2. April 2008, 08:35:24

Aidan is into his 16th mth today...how time flies!.

Last week when Aidan was suffering from irratic fever and was at home for 3 days, we noticed that he can walk unaided for quite a distance i.e. from my MIL's master bedroom bed area to the playpen in the hall. We were very happy, at least some big improvements as compared to his usual habit of wanting to crawl. He can also stand up on his own without any support. Aidan....FINALLY!!!! Mummy is very happy for you

Yesterday, it was even better, he could walk unaided from my MIL's master bedroom to the TV. I just walked behind him just in case he falls

Aidan, very soon you will be able to run around......

God is good

Tuesday, 11. March 2008, 02:56:23

Ever since my last post on Aidan's new breakthrough, he didn't cry at all when he goes to school. He will even smile at his teachers whenever they received him in the morning. God has really been so kind and watched over him. I can see that he enjoys going to Rosy. I would have thought he needs a longer time to get use to school life. Phew!

Our little boy is so funny

Thursday, 21. February 2008, 07:05:43

Yesterday, Adrian was holding Aidan's hands and led him walking. He walked around the house and kitchen and whenever he stops and rested on the floor, we (Adrian, my MIL, my FIL, Paul and I) will encouraged him by clapping and he would clapped as well. I took over and held his hands and we walked from bedroom to the living room, I guessed he was too tired of all these walking and he kept sitting down to rest even after a step and he would happily clapped. He would clapped even when he did not walk, it was so funny to see him clapping happily away.

Aidan, Aidan, when will you start walking??

A new breakthrough!!

Wednesday, 13. February 2008, 03:30:09

This morning, Aidan was pretty cranky. He kept wanting me to carry him after we left the house for the school. When Adrian was carrying him (as my hands were carrying things and 1 of it was filled with his mucous), I refused to carry him and he was crying and pulling my dress collar in the lift. I thought it will be another day of crying if I passed him to the teacher but to my surprise, when he saw teacher Radi, he reached out both arms for her. Even Radi was surprised and said "are you sure you want teacher?" :P Aidan didn't cry at all!!! I thanked God for this new change and hope that this will continue to sustain :)

Aidan's 2nd CNY

Tuesday, 12. February 2008, 03:24:28

Although this is Aidan's 2nd CNY, he spent it more meaningful this year since he was only 2 mths old when he had his 1st CNY. He spent his CNY's eve in school in the morning where they have some celebration. We dressed him up in a bright red Chinese New Year costume bought from Carrefour and he looked very nice in it since he is fair.

Aidan has improved from his strangers' anxiety. When we go to all the relatives and friends' place for visiting, he didn't cry at all and he was enjoying himself by crawling and exploring all the new environements. Aidan, mummy is very proud of you. I think it's due to the exposure he gets from Infantcare. Keep up the good effort!

Another milestone....

Tuesday, 12. February 2008, 03:11:34

A week or 2 ago, Aidan knows how to wave "good-bye" when we asked him to. He will raise up his right arm to open and close his fist. It was so cute :) I also noticed, when he watched the disc "Baby can read", that he seemed to know the word "clap" and "star". When he sees the word "clap", he will clap his hands and when he sees the word "star", he will say star. Does Aidan really knows how to read?? I really wonder :)

Aidan is sicked again after recovered from flu and cough for 3 days and he is down with the same illness again. But this time round, we suspected it might be due to teething cos his poo is also more frequent and it's softer than usual. These are his usual signs when teething. He also bites us more frequently and even bite his own arms!!!

Cute actions...

Tuesday, 15. January 2008, 01:49:41

Yesterday night when I was preparing him to sleep, my brother-in-law, Paul and my parent-in-law came into the room and "played" with Aidan. As CNY is approaching, I have been teaching him how to do the gesture of "gong xi gong xi" so when I asked him to do the gesture, he clenched his fists and did the act, he was smiling at the same time. Too bad, I didn't have a camera or mobile standby to take down this cute action. When my in-law and Paul clapped and applauded his action, he clapped happily too.

My father-in-law asked him to call me ma ma and he was having his pacifier on, so he took out his pacifier and turned to me and called me "ma ma", afterwhich, he put his pacifier back into his mouth. He was so adorable!! All of us couldn't help laughing away :)

Aidan's 2nd day in Rosy and he has shown vast improvement!!!

Tuesday, 8. January 2008, 08:24:48

On his 1st day, Chong Peng, the owner, texted me in the morning that Aidan settled on and off and he only drank 50ml of milk in the morning and ate only 1/3 of his porridge (fish and sweet potato). He also went without breakfast!! My heart really sank when I read the sms :(

When I picked Aidan up yesterday, the teacher, Radi, was changing his soiled diaper and the poor boy was crying badly with his pacifier on. It really pains me to see him like that. The minute he sees me, he cried for me and said "ma ma", my heart really melted and hugged him tightly. He quieted down after I carried him and was happily clapping away on his way home. Whe he reached home, he finished his whole bowl of porridge and managed to drink 200ml of milk at night. This boy must be so hungry....

This morning - Aidan's 2nd day in Rosy, he was ok when we were there but the minute I handed him over to Radi, he cried big time again but I know I have to go. At 9.05am, Chong Peng texted me and told me Aidan has settled down and she can see that he is better today. I was relieved to read that. In the afternoon, I was so eagered to know whether he eats his meals so I texted Chong Peng and to my surprise, she replied "He drank 120ml milk in the morn. Ate 3/4 lunch. Just woke up. Drinking milk soon. He has not cried. We are happy for him". I was soooooo happy to know this. Thank God for your help in adapting Aidan quickly at Rosy Hearts and please continue to look after him. Praise God.

Aidan calls "dad"

Monday, 7. January 2008, 01:59:07

Yesterday, Adrian was happily telling me that Aidan woke him up by calling him "dad, dad". I couldn't believe it and asked him to call daddy again....and he really said it!!! This really made Adrian's day :)

Aidan, mummy couldn't wait for the day u call me "mummy" :) Mummy loves you dearly....

His 1st day in Infantcare - Rosy Hearts Babies

Monday, 7. January 2008, 01:55:36

This morning Aidan woke up pretty early (7am) so I managed to brush his teeth before sending him to the Infantcare. At first he was ok, happily crawling and exploring but when i went to the car to take his bag of diapers, he cried big time. I managed to pacify him. When Chong Peng came, she took over and played with him and signalled I should leave. I didn't want to do the "disappearing act", so I told him that "mummy will come back to fetch you after work" and he started crying big time again. I knew I had to leave and turned my back and head for the door. I was also crying big time in the car. I felt so bad leaving him with all the strangers but I know I have to do that for his own good so that he will be able to learn things and be independent.

Darling, you know how much mummy loves you, so don't be so silly to think that mummy will abandon you.

I just hope that he will overcome this crying phase very soon...God, please help Aidan to overcome this...amen.

1 year check up and vaccine

Monday, 7. January 2008, 01:47:30

We brought Aidan to Dr Ng on his birthday - 2 Jan 2008 for his 1 year old checkup and here are his records:-

Weight - 10.3 kg (75 percentile)
Height - 77 cm (75 percentile)
Head circumrence - ? (50 percentile)

He was able to pick up things like paper clips and toys. He was also able to follow the sound made from different direction. The only thing that Dr Ng commented was his laziness to walk since he probably can reach from point A to B by crawling which he is so good at.

He also has his 1st dose of pneumoccocal and influenza jabs that day (cos he is going to infantcare on 7 Jan). I was shocked that Dr Ng gave the jabs on both his arms (one jab on each arm) since he used to have his jabs on his thighs. Dr Ng said that he is now a big boy so cannot give jabs on thighs anymore. He cried big time and struggled on his 2nd jab which caused some blue black and swelling on the jab area.

This was how Aidan spent his 1st birthday...poor boy :(

Aidan's first step

Tuesday, 18. December 2007, 06:38:42

These few days, we have been putting his playmat on the floor so that he has more chance to crawl and learn to walk. 2 days ago, he released his hands from the sofa and walk towards me, my Father-in-law and I were so happy that we clapped with joy:yes: Although it's just a short 2 steps but it marked another milestone. Hopefully he can walk soon.

More words from Aidan

Thursday, 13. December 2007, 07:30:32

I was very happy yestday cos Aidan can finally called me "ma ma" and he repeated a few times :) A few days ago, when i showed him flash cards and when I mentioned the word "car", he followed! I feel that he can pick up speech faster than motor skill although I saw him standing without support inside the playpen for a while before falling down yesterday night :p

Yesterday, i took some time off and went to visit 2 more Infant Care Centres - Rosy Hearts and Sunflower. My preference is Rosy Hearts. I am very comfortable with the cleanliness of place, the experience caregiver, the low caregiver ratio and their curriculum. Rosy is also very idealin terms of the location. The only consideration factor is the fee which is on the high side. Anyway, we will most likely be putting Aidan there. He seemed comfortable with the place too.

Aidan will be going to Infantcare in Jan 2008

Thursday, 29. November 2007, 09:26:19

It has been a difficult decision for us to put Aidan in Infantcare instead of taken care by my mother-in-law. My mother-in-law's elbow has been giving her problems and pain and as Aidan grow heavier, it's tougher on her. It's also our wish to let Aidan interact and learn from a school so it's just a matter of time when we will be putting him in a childcare. Due to my mother-in-law's deteriorating condition, we have decided to escalate this.

We visited my friends' (Shih Lin, Suzie and Kelly) kids infantcare - Zion Babies on 24 Nov 2007 and we loved the place and felt comfortable with Vicki and Jeslyn. Aidan stayed very quiet when we were talking to Vicki and don't even dare to crawl when Adrian put him on the floor. I think it's because of a new environment.

Vicki called 2 days ago and said we could probably put Aidan there in early Jan 2008 so I am looking forward to it. Hopefully, the school can help to correct Aidan milk feeding habit and he can become more sociable.

Aidan's first word

Thursday, 29. November 2007, 08:44:51

Aidan has been uttering "pa pa" but I don't think he is calling Adrian as we usually teach him to call Adrian "Daddy" but yesterday when I was teaching him the word "apple", he followed suit. I was delighted :) His "Ap" is usally softer than his "Ple" but sometimes the word came out very clearly.

Aidan, mummy is proud of you....

He just hates milk

Tuesday, 20. November 2007, 02:18:06

Aidan's milk intake has dropped quite badly these few days even when he sleeps (btw for the benefit of those who doesn't know Aidan's feeding pattern, he only drinks milk when he sleep!!). He probably drinks 400ml a day which is so insufficient for a baby of his age :( It's so difficult to feed him milk, he doesn't suck continously, when we tap on the bottle, he will just take a few suck and stop. My MIL told us it took him half an hour to finish a bottle of 200ml of milk yesterday!! Sometimes we even have to resort using stringe to feed him milk if he wakes up half way. We really can't wait for him to reach 12 mths old where we can give him fresh or flavoured milk which we hope that he will like the taste of it.

10mths old

Aidan has finally hit the 2-digits (in mths) of age. I have started planning for his coming birthday party on 30 Dec 2007 at sis's condo. So far has already confirmed the place and birthday cake. Thanks to sis who graciously offered to sponsor Aidan's 1st birthday cake from The Patissier...yum yum :p

We have yet to finalize on the caterer and the most headache part - guest list!

We have noticed that Aidan has been trying to learn to walk without support in his playpen which is a good sign. He is pretty smart, whenever he wants to get down from the sofa or bed, he will turn around and go down legs first. When he sits on hard ground, he will also be extra cautious not to let his tender buttocks hit hard on the ground :p

Recovering

Thank God for your mercy, Aidan is on his road to recovery from HFMD/viral infection. His episode of this virus really brought so much worries in me. His scars are also gone/fading.

There is another tooth that has cut through his gum, this made a total of 8 teeth now, that's quite a lot for his age :)

HFMD

Aidan had his 3rd fell from the bed on 14 Oct...he is really very restless, kept turning and tossing which ended up on the floor.Poor Aidan suffered from HFMD/viral infection after his virgin trip to Bintan Club Med. I can see that the rashes from his face are slowly recovering but there seemed to be more spots developing on the legs. I think he will take longer than 7 days to recover :(

Thank God that he is still very lively and most importantly there isn't any mouth ulcers so he can still eat normally. But this weekend we will be grounded at home :(

My lovable boy is 9 months now.....

It has take me the longest time to start a blog for Aidan, thanks to my laziness :p

Aidan is 9 months now and we just recently discovered that there is a new tooth that has just cut through his gum, that makes a total of 7 teeth now. I must say that's quite a lot for a 9 mth old baby. We are counting down to Aidan's virgin trip - Bintan Club Med on 14 Oct 2007 but before that I can't imagine the loads of things that I have to pack for Aidan.

Aidan, Aidan, when will you sleep through the night without being so restless every night? Mummy has not sleep throughout eversince you were born, not that I am complaining but sometimes I really feel like dozing off at work :p

My little boy can crawl very well now so must really be very careful and he is also learning to take a few steps with our support. Oh yesterday when I gave him the gerber stars (it's baby finger food), I can see that he was chewing on the stars, so I am going to give him coarser food so that he can chew on his food instead of swallowing them.

Aidan, you are such a joy to mummy. Although sometimes I can get very angry with you but the minute you smile or chuckle, my heart melts. God, thank you for giving me such a wonderful boy.
